A Review: Lyndzie Taylor

Lyndzie Taylor is a singer songwriter from Colorado now based in Los Angeles. In the pop realm, her music is part Pat Benatar and part Lady Gaga. It combines an 80s component with a more modern pop sound. With a strong voice and determined message Taylor sings with gut and passion. She will release her latest EP, “Phoenix” on November 13th.

Taylor’s lyrics speak of empowerment, courage, strength, and resolve to fight through life’s barriers. It’s a message which resonates for the many who have dreams and yet feel the ever present and persistent resistance that comes with life.  There’s something quite uplifting and tenacious about her musical presence.  She reassures the listener that this struggle is inherent to all of us – it’s a right of passage.

One can hear this message on “Rain”.  Taylor sings, “Something I’ve noticed, people are just as afraid of success as of failure.  Something I’ve noticed, some people want something so bad but won’t put in the years, the blood sweat, the tears. Something I know now, you’ll only be ready to fly if you’re ready to fall.  But that doesn’t mean you won’t be scared at all.”  Only someone that has experienced the struggle of pursuing their dreams can write lyrics like this. And they’re quite profound. Often our fear is not in what we can’t do but in what we can. Owning our power is a scary and necessary feat.

For those that love pop music, Lyndzie may resonate with your tastes. Her songs are catchy and meaningful.  I can hear the likes of Kelly Clarkson, Demi Lovato, and Britney Spears singing one of the songs off this latest EP.
